Taking the 28 Tram – Lisbon

It used to be a normal tram ride through town, but now, the tram number 28 is a tourist attraction that crosses from Campo de Ourique driving in between narrow roads up to the São Jorge Castle ending at Martim Moniz. It’s also an inexpensive and quick way to see Lisbon if you’re not staying long. The trip takes you through several hot spots like the Basilica da Estrela, Praça Luis de Camões, and Chiado. Just make sure to be the first in line and get a seat otherwise you’ll end up standing the whole ride…

Once the Tram starts ridding up hill make sure to stop at Miradouro Sta. Luzia for a view of Lisbon and the river. From there you can walk up to the Castle through charming streets stop for a “Ginginha” (Cherry Liqueur) or a Coffee and Pastel de Nata.
